Where: Newcomb CAFE Conference Room
When: 8/28/2026 1:00 PM - 8/28/2026 2:00 PM
Presenter(s): Lena Hoober-Burkhardt

Are you teaching a large lecture course and feeling the weight of the logistics, administration, and unique demands that come with it?

You’re not alone.

We invite you to join the Teaching High-Enrollment courses with Resilience, Innovation, Value & Engagement (THRIVE) Faculty Learning Community (FLC) beginning in August 2026.  Led by Lena Hoober, this FLC is designed specifically for faculty navigating the challenges of large lecture teaching. Be a part of creating space to connect with colleagues, share strategies, and explore approaches that support both effective teaching and a sustainable workload.

Together, we will:

  • Exchange practical strategies for managing large classes

  • Explore ways to streamline course logistics and communication

  • Reflect on student engagement and learning at scale in the age of AI

  • Build a supportive network of colleagues who understand the realities of large lecture teaching
