Based on her co-edited and recently published anthology, Pedagogical Art in Activist and Curatorial Practices, (Routledge, 2025), Izabel Galliera will present an overview of “pedagogical art” over the last two decades. You'll learn of examples from different geopolitical and cultural contexts about pedagogical art, understood as various forms of art practices that act as advocacy tools to advance social justice on concerns both inside and outside established institutional structures.  The lecture will be followed by discussion on the possibilities and constraints of pedagogical art in our world.
