How Do You Teach Writing?: A Multidisciplinary Discussion

Noon-1 p.m., Friday, October 29 in Zoom, https://umsystem.zoom.us/j/5355053568

How do UMKC faculty members from diverse disciplines help their students develop the writing skills students need to succeed in their college studies and future careers? Please join instructors from across the campus to talk about assignments, strategies, successes, and challenges in teaching writing at both the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition to David Kenner of the Bloch School of Management and Katherine Bloemker of the School of Computing and Engineering, speakers will include Marcus Meade, Graduate Writing Specialist in the Writing Studio and School of Graduate Studies; Aaron Reed of the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences; and David Trowbridge of the History Department.

This event is open to all UMKC instructors and is sponsored by the University Writing and Reading Board (UWRB) and the Center for Faculty Excellence (CAFE). Facilitated by Thomas Ferrel and Henrietta Rix Wood.
